Kharkiv / 2018 / Social project and installation
Together with different artists and political activists from Ukraine and Germany we realized the project home in Kharkiv, Ukraine in summer 2018. We squated a 1913 built and for the last years abounded hospital in the city’s center. By the commitment of all participants we created a basic infrastructure for the living in a community. Therefore it is necessary to explore the conditions a community needs and what individual needs it can and must satisfy. Finding methods to have an equal communication is as important like building furniture for kitchen, make the toilet work or prepair dinner for everybody. For a lot of simple procedures a community gains not only from sharing space and stuff but mostly from sharing knowledge. For all participants especially the experience of the common calculation of difficult situations was an enhancement for the personal abilities. In the end of the first phase of the project we established an infrastructure that remains and gives a base for long lasting living in the house as well as the opportunity to use it as an open social center.
